A couple retro games that I used to play post-workday at startups ages ago:

BZFlag Wolfenstein Enemy Territory

I set them both up with local servers and played a bit with my kids recently. They hold up well. Both happen to have nixos packages (bzflag and etlegacy) though the latter requires an extra lib download from the site above.
